She mentioned that during the film’s shooting, the director would often call her “Mimi.” He used to tell her that she would receive a National Award for this film, but she would dismiss it, saying, “Sir, what are you saying? I haven’t even won the Best Actress award for my film yet. How can I get a National Award?” However, he always said this to her with confidence.

Kriti’s Reaction on Winning National Award

Kriti explained that she was sitting at her home with some people, and they were in the middle of a meeting when she suddenly received a call from an unknown phone number. She often doesn’t answer calls during meetings, so she asked her manager to take the call. After speaking on the phone, her manager came in and said that she needed to take the call. Kriti answered the call and heard a voice saying, “I am Anurag Thakur, and I congratulate you. You have won the National Award for ‘Mimi.'” She hung up the phone and went to her parents.

“My dad was at home. My sister had gone for a workout, and mom was not at home. I was feeling very restless. I told my dad that I had won the National Award. My dad got emotional. When my sister came, she hugged me. Mom had gone to the salon and was getting her hair washed. I told her that I had won the National Award, and she asked, ‘Did someone prank call you? Are you telling the truth?’ I said, ‘No, I received a call from the ministry.’ Mom said, ‘Okay, I’m coming home.’ She hung up the phone with a very cool reply. When she came home, we danced a lot. We celebrated. Seeing the pride my parents felt in me made me emotional.”
